Novel Coronavirus Outbreak (2019-nCoV) in Wuhan city, China
National precaution:
- Strengthened surveillance at Paro International Airport: Infrared fever scanning and respiratory symptoms from 15th January 2020
- Issued cautionary notification to public and health centers on 15th January 2020
- Started in-flight announcement (both the airlines) from 17th January 2020
- All health centers are notified to step-up surveillance and report to RCDC
- RCDC is prepared to handle the 2019-nCoV in their BSL 3 lab. If need be, samples can be shipped to AFIRMS
- Circulated interim guideline and case investigation forms to all health facilities
- Requested JDWNRH to strengthen surveillance for 2019-nCoV at OPD and ED on 22nd January 2020
- Initiated the collection of personal information (contact address in Bhutan) including health screening of passengers arriving from China at Paro International Airport in coordination with Immigration from 22nd January 2020
- Sent press release after WHO Emergency Committee on 22nd January 2020
The further preparedness actions will depend on the findings and recommendations of WHO Emergency Committee Meeting.
